OK Bamboo folks, Toshi is going to buy 2400 songs from sound choice. Sound choice has split their songs up into "Emerald" and "Sapphire" sets. Emerald set has 600 songs, and Sapphire has 300. Any combination of these sets that equal 2400 songs is what we will get.

So we upgraded our net connection to comcast today.  Our speeds made a massive jump.

So expect some new lovelyness out of the stream.  Tonight we're broadcasting at the highest bitrate we've ever done. 1mbps video.  Audio is still 48kbps stereo AAC, but that's fine :)

So since we have this hotness for internet, expect some more at the bar.  I'll be setting up public hot spot ness.

So during the site move I deleted a ton of spam accounts. Post move I noticed the spammers were still registering accounts like mad, so I went ahead and installed a captcha on the user registration page. Hopefully we won't be seeing "VIAGRA AND CIALAS $5" type spams anymore.

Some of you know, or may not know we won the Metro Best of Silicon Valley for the 12th year in a row .  Things have changed a lot in the world of karaoke as well as 7 Bamboo, but we still deliver on what we've always been.  An awesome place to worship karaoke.

JBA and the spirit of Japantown festival will not be removing the street barricades past 9pm tonight for access into our parking lot. Feel free to drive around them.

My friend scire is still hosting the site for us, but it's been for so long that tech has more than quadrupled in hotness since he started. His co-lo company offered him a new server, and if you're seeing this I was successful in moving the site and the database over to the new server.

Anyways, before moving the site over I nuked a bunch of stuff in the database. If you registered but never posted, your account is gone. Likewise, if you registered but never confirmed your registration, it got nuked. Truth be told, there was over 70 gigs of crud in the old DB that has been cleaned out.

Seems like the site is running quicker. If you have any problems just hit me up, most of you know where to find me.

Yup, we have a Twitter page now.  You can follow my nightly updates that will tell you if we still got songs left. 

I'm thinking with all the new social media tools availiable, it's time we once again blew away this site, and did some more integration with what's out there.  I'm also going to put things like the rotation and playlist back on this site (As long as those that know how to fuck with my shit, don't)

We made some additions to the sound system that will make any audiophile giggle with glee.  2 weeks ago Toshi and I went to Guitar Center and he plopped down over $2000 for a new set of loudspeakers and monitor.  Probably the best loudspeakers 7b has ever had, and from the feedback we're getting, we're back on top for having the best sound system in the bay area for karaoke.

For those curious about what flanks the stage now, it's a pair of QSC HPR122's . For now we have them on stands, but in the weeks to come we will hang them from the ceiling.
