There's plenty of video game players at the 7b, many of whom are awaiting the release of the new EA game Spore.

So on Saturday 6/15/2008 at approximately 12:23am (+15 minutes because 7b is in the future compared to the rest of the world) we had some singers on the stage.  IMHO not paticularly great singers, but at the 7b we're about selling booze and stage time, while maintaining some sense of the Japanese heritage that built the club. 

Friday the 13th... uhhm, ya.

I don't think Vic was there for the first one, but two guys last night discovered what me and Vic refer to as "throat" singing.  These are guys we've been watching struggle with projection for a while.

"Hey toqer, you ever get up there and sing?" Tim asked me last night.  It was the usual 7b loud, i'm 1/2 deaf from the occupational hazzard of karaoke work, and I wasn't sure he heard me that well either.

My love affair with karaoke and the 7b started in 1998.  Long story short, I spent 6 months here religiously drinking and singing back then.  I got a DUI, and stopped coming down. 2001 is when I came back as an employee.

Some basic tips on using a karaoke mic.

So one of the big drags at the 7b lately has been the 2 max in cue policy.  Me and KJFubar were discussing different comprimises the Umeharas might be agreeable when we struck a chord on tiered cue pricing.

 Basically it works like this;

You set the price per song based by how many songs a person has in cue.

1 song in cue = $1
2 songs in cue = $2 for the 2nd song in cue, $1 for the first
3 songs in cue = $3 for the 3rd song in cue

etc.

Since we already allow 2 songs in cue for no tier price, we'll have no price adjustment there. 

When I was a wee lad, we had these things called "Arcades".  Due to the price of RAM/ROM and processing being so high, complex video games with detailed graphics were not yet affordable for the masses.

For $0.25 though you could step into another world.  Utilizing your tween reflexes you could make the experience last longer.  Your reward for being so hardcore was the high score list, where you could tag your initials to show the world that you were a #1 badass.
