Most guys can relate to that question when posed by a signifigant other.  Girlfriends, wives will ask it all the time. 

Last night though I had that same question posed to me in a different way.  We have a new regular with a kick ass voice, and an amazing range to boot.  2 of my *MALE* regulars started asking me, "Toqer, who do you think is the best male singer here?"

So last weekend I helped Izzy at Farout toys with his Fanimecon stuff.  Fanime is like this big expo for Anime fans.  Iz was going to run the rave for the show.  It was my task to provide my sound expertise to prevent the 5 or 6 DJ's that showed up to spin for the event from blowing up Izzy's speakers.

They gave us karaoke ... which gives really, really, really ordinary Joes like us a taste of the rock star experience...

Now they have a device which enables a woman to experience life as a man!!!! (and... girls... if you ever wondered why the men's bathroom is always such a festering pit of gross-o-sity... well.. click here . )

So judging from the amount of assholes last night (the guy screwing with my lights, that other jackoff grabbing the mic from singers) I have a feeling we had a huge group of first timers. 

I am the KJ (Karaoke Jock) at 7 Bamboo.  Please do not confuse this with a DJ.  A DJ gets to pick his playlist, and make songs smoothly transition and crossfade from one to the other with little or no interaction with the crowd. 

Yes folks thats right, I'll be working tonight, and the rest of the hump days at 7b.  All the technological goodness and efficiency you've come to expect will be there.  Not much more to say about it than that.

So last nights experiment into justin.tv was just awesome. Initially I used the web based broadcasting tools, but like any self respecting toqer, I delved further and found out that justin.tv could be sourced with Flash Media Encoder for even better performance. 

So taking a break from our regularly scheduled NSV broadcast, i'm trying out justin.tv tonight. Click this link to see the show.
